VACCINATIONS: All vaccinations delivered by suitably trained pharmacists have always been covered by indemnity insurance as part of the standard PDA membership apart from Covid-19. For new membership renewals after January 1st, 2026, Covid-19 vaccinations are now also automatically covered.

  • Wallgreens Boots Alliance have “most difficult quarter” of trading

    Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) has warned that it may be forced to close stores and cut jobs in the UK after suffering the “most difficult quarter” since its formation via merger in 2014, even though the vertically integrated multinational is still making £Billions in profits. The PDA Union will be supporting any members affected by the consequences of this announcement.

  • PDA responds to the NHSI Consultation on Developing a Patient Safety Strategy for the NHS

    NHS Improvement consulted on a patient safety strategy for the NHS. The consultation ran from 14 December 2018 to 15 February 2019. The PDA generally welcomes and supports the proposals in the consultation. However, there is a significant need for increased focus on systems issues affecting medicines safety in pharmacy. 

  • PDA Union representatives will listen to all Boots pharmacists and trainee pharmacists (called pre-reg until end of summer 2021)

    PDA Union asking all Boots pharmacists to let them know what should be made better at work and reiterating PDA Union representatives will act in the interests of the entire profession when they negotiate for all registered and trainee pharmacist (called pre-reg until end of summer 2021) store-based pharmacists at levels 5, 6 and 7. 

  • PDA Union has affiliated to the General Federation of Trade Unions

    The PDA is strengthening its trade union function by affiliating to the General Federation of Trade Unions. The affiliation coincides with the union entering a new chapter as it begins to collectively bargain for pay at the largest community pharmacy multiple, Boots.
