There is a growing demand for the rapid trining of critical care pharmacists, particularly those who are providing cover during the COVID-19 pandemic. The PDA are able to promote online training available from the not-for-profit UK Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA).

COVID-19 risk management tool for pharmacists and for pharmacies

COVID risk assessments are needed more than ever for all staff, and with an added focus on those at higher risk, such as BAME pharmacists. The PDA want to help protect all pharmacists, their teams and the members of the public that enter the pharmacy from the virus and support the pharmacy from the risk of enforced closure. The PDA's COVID-19 risk assessment tool remains available for FREE download.

Use the PDA toolkit to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 in community pharmacy

Following guidance from the GPhC on 8 June, the PDA want to help pharmacists to reduce the risks of COVID -19 in the pharmacy and to consider what actions to take to reduce the risk of closure, if their whole pharmacy team may have to self-isolate.

Safer Pharmacies Charter

PDA members have produced a charter of seven commitments to improve safety and care for patients, through better working conditions in UK pharmacy practice. This charter defines basic standards to ensure safe practice wherever pharmacists work.
