Research and policy work
We routinely commission external research in the interest of our members. Our responses to a wide range of consultations often involve weeks of research into the subject area. We publish and promote many policy papers, and their creation often requires the involvement of experts and academic advisers, as well as focus group meetings with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. Consequently, the PDA is invited to participate in numerous government advisory committees.
Links with schools of pharmacy
Through close links with pharmacy students and universities, we hear first-hand what life is like for students on the ground. We provide bespoke awareness sessions and training to students in universities throughout the UK on pharmacy law and ethics, risk management and fitness to practice issues. These resources are tailored to the academic year.
We also sponsor the BPSA trainee conference.
