The PDA member networks allow pharmacists to come together to address issues that impact them based on certain shared characteristics.
PDA member networks began with student members. The PDA encourages members at each pharmacy school to have a student representative who can be part of the national network. The PDA defends the reputation and represents the interests of pharmacy students as well as helps them develop into health professionals and trade unionists.
In January 2020, the National Association of Women Pharmacists (NAWP) started its 115th year by becoming part of the PDA and so became the first PDA EDI Network.
In April 2020 the PDA launched three further networks: the Black Asian and Minority Ethnic Pharmacists Network (BAME Network), the Disabled Pharmacists Network (Ability Network), and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pharmacists Network (LGBT+ Network).
The PDA encourages all members to get involved in the networks that are of interest to them.
Why join a PDA EDI Network?
Being part of a PDA EDI Network allows pharmacists to work together to proactively address and campaign about issues that affect them. Members help identify issues that need to be acted upon and can help influence PDA policy. Read what members say about being part of a network below.
“It’s so nice to see all the support offered by the lovely members of the network. Seeing how successful they are gives me a lot of hope for the future of my career. It’s so good to see and be involved in all the hard work that’s being done to fight the inequalities within pharmacy.”
