  In response to many requests from pharmacists employed at Superdrug, the PDA Union is attempting to secure trade union recognition at the company. This would include negotiating pay, terms and conditions, improving health and safety and addressing workplace issues.

  Following the 2024 Annual General Meeting, the PDA Union has published an infographic to inform members of its work and successes from April 2023 to March 2024. 

• Trade Union recognition for Superdrug pharmacists

  In response to requests from PDA members employed by Superdrug, the PDA has begun the process of securing trade union recognition for pharmacists working for the company. 

• Financial statement to members – 2024

  Under the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 (Amended), the PDA Union is required to circulate to all members key financial information along with details of the salary and benefits provided to the General Secretary and any other members of the National Executive Committee.

  Last month, the PDA attended the STUC Congress 2024 to progress three motions that aim to improve the working lives of pharmacists in Scotland.

• PDA Hospital Reps met to discuss improving the working conditions for members in the NHS

  Earlier this month, PDA Hospital Reps met to discuss their work, areas of concern and how to support each other. The meeting also gave the reps the opportunity to discuss how they can work together to improve the working conditions for members in the NHS. 

• PDA Regional Committees discuss the recent PDA general practice pharmacist work satisfaction survey

  The PDA Regional Committees are all pharmacists and PDA members from across areas of pharmacy practice and are are elected to represent the wider PDA membership. They meet regularly to discuss current issues in pharmacy ahead of PDA National Executive Committee meetings.
