Social media has evolved over the years and can be used as a positive tool to help advance the profession and advocate for pharmacists. Social media is also useful to network across the profession, between professions, both nationally and globally.
This guidance is to act as a reminder on how to best navigate social media.
As with anything, social media does have pitfalls that can lead to fairly serious consequences for members. The PDA would like to encourage members to think about how they use social media and how to best protect themselves.
Tasnim Khan, Policy Officer at the PDA, says “We believe that there are many positive aspects to social media that should be embraced. However, care should be taken to protect yourself and your professional career.”
