The training was delivered by PDA Education and took place at Quorn Grange in Leicestershire.
The participants learned about the role and the rights of a Workplace Rep and how they can support members with workplace issues. They practised interview skills and planned how to deal with member workplace problems.
By working in small groups they were able to share their experiences and support each other. It was also an opportunity to network with PDA staff and other PDA Reps as well as build a support network.

Feroz Jussab, PDA Lloyds Rep and PDA Regional Representative for East Midlands said, “Incredibly engaging training course with ample opportunity to ask many questions and interact with other fellow reps. Great structure and key topic areas covered empowering all us reps to fulfil our duties competently.”
Jyoti Saini, PDA Union West England and Wales Regional Committee Rep and Primary Care Pharmacist said, “I felt the two days training was well organised and planned. The activities helped in my development as a Workplace Representative. Meeting other reps, sharing ideas and information was extremely valuable and I look forward to further sessions which will enable me to be more confident.”
Emma Tinley, PDA Education Programme Manager, said “This was a great opportunity for reps to meet each other and start to build a support network. There was a real buzz in the training room, and everyone was fully engaged with the course. I learnt a lot about what is going on in different areas and really enjoyed being part of this experience. I can’t wait until the next course!”
PDA Education will be running further training at Quorn Grange for PDA Reps, including, health and safety and negotiating training. There will also be more Workplace Reps training next year.
