Under trade union law the PDA Union’s governing body are elected by the membership. NEC members representing each of the four PDA Union regions are elected from, and by, the membership in each region.
Due to a casual vacancy there is now a by-election for members in “Region 4 – Southeast England” to elect a member of the National Executive Committee.
Full members from the region at the relevant date (i.e. not those in the Student, Associate or Retired member categories), other than a member disqualified from voting by virtue of rule 8(d), should be entitled to stand for election, nominate or second others and vote in election ballots.
In accordance with the statutory provisions relating to Trade Union elections, an independent scrutineer has been appointed from the list approved by the Secretary of State for Employment, who will be responsible for supervising the production and the distribution of nomination papers. Under legislation, voting for any contested seats must be undertaken by anonymous postal ballot.
Completed nominations must be returned by 5pm on Sunday 13 April 2025.
