The review also found areas where some administration processes did not fully comply with scheme rules, including those relating to the Public Service Pension Scheme (PSP) Remedy, also known as McCloud. The NHSBSA have therefore informed the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and the Pensions Regulator of these issues.
There has also been a ministerial statement which confirmed that, “…there were issues in the administration of a small proportion of members records, with the earliest dating back to 2008. NHS Pension Scheme members are asked not to contact the NHSBSA for updates about this at this time, but to check this page of the NHSBSA website. This page will give a current update in more detail and will be updated with more information every four weeks. As is always the case, scheme members should also ensure that their contact details are kept up to date.
The NHSBSA also reiterate that most NHS pension members have not been affected, and that they will contact any individuals directly to explain the situation if they identify that they have been affected by this issue.
