Over the Christmas period, PDA members eligible to sit the GPhC assessment examination in March 2021 raised their concerns over the Pearson Vue guidance that water was not allowed in their test centres during examinations.

UPDATE: Partial resolution secured for prov-reg pharmacists being blocked from working via NHS Bank

The PDA has already achieved partial progress for provisionally registered pharmacists who were being blocked from working on the NHS bank via NHS professionals and will continue to pursue this issue.

The PDA have been approached by provisionally registered members who report that they have been blocked by NHS Professionals from acting as bank pharmacists.

In the fourth instalment of our ‘coronavirus and its impact on trainee pharmacists (called pre-reg until end of summer 2021)’ series, we talk to Samuel Opoku, a PDA trainee pharmacists Rep who after being unsuccessful in passing the pre-reg assessment in 2019, was denied the chance to retake the assessment earlier this year or become a provisionally registered pharmacist.

PDA launch Provisional Registration Charter

The PDA has today launched a Provisional Registration Charter to support those that are eligible for this new role in pharmacy. This is following the GPhC's decision to postpone the 2020 pre-reg assessment and create a new role for pre-regs that will allow them to practice as a responsible pharmacist.
