Concerns over physical safety of Boots Pharmacists as security reduced.

Pharmacists at Boots midnight stores are raising concerns at work after local management have decided to reduce the level of security cover in some stores. The winter season brings darker evenings and increased numbers of shoppers and potentially increased numbers of shoplifters.

New senior appointment at Boots – does this herald a positive era for employee relations?

Boots have announced that they have appointed Tracey Clements as Chief Operating Officer. Tracey is currently an executive at the retail giant Tesco. Pharmacists will be hopeful that this new appointment will bring a fresh perspective to employees’ rights at work.

Pharmacists concerned at Data breach

PDA Union members have alerted us that Well Pharmacy have inadvertently emailed out a spreadsheet containing data about pharmacists, in a significant data breach. The spreadsheet was attached to an email titled “Xmas Payments” and was sent last week to locum pharmacists. The PDA does not know how many people received the information.

Boots Pharmacists: February Ballot is a chance to raise thousands for charity

A second ballot of pharmacists at Boots relating to the trade union recognition arrangements at the company will bring with it another opportunity for charity fundraising, as the PDA Union have confirmed they will once again give £1 to charity for each vote cast in the ballot, regardless of which way Boots pharmacist and pre-registration pharmacists vote.
