PDA welcome GPhC statement on zero tolerance of violence.

The PDA welcome a formal statement from the pharmacy regulator on zero tolerance of violence, which comes after the PDA called on the whole sector to work together with the union to end violence in pharmacies. The PDA is now asking the GPhC to follow up on it's commitment to zero tolerance with the application of regulatory standards.

The Health & Social Care Secretary, Matt Hancock has written to the PDA to confirm that compensation scheme cases from community pharmacy will be treated in the same way as cases from other parts of the NHS and social care sectors.

PDA urge the government and NHS to protect the BAME community and include pharmacy in plans to keep workers safe

After the ONS (Office of National Statistics) confirmed that people that are Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) are more likely to suffer a coronavirus (COVID-19) related death, the PDA have urged the NHS and the government to develops plans to mitigate risk in order to keep all pharmacy workers safe.
